The festival at a glance
The World Poker Tour returns to Wynn Las Vegas for a 25-day festival from November 27 to December 21, 2026. WPT has announced more than 85 events and over $20 million in combined guaranteed prize pools. That figure describes the festival as a whole, not the guarantee for the $10,400 championship.
The flagship $10,400 WPT World Championship takes place December 13–20. The $1,100 WPT Prime Championship runs December 5–12, while the $400 ClubWPT Gold Super Gold Million runs December 10–14. Always check the current official structure sheets and schedule before registering.
| Headline event | Dates | Entry |
|---|---|---|
| WPT Prime Championship | December 5–12 | $1,100 |
| ClubWPT Gold Super Gold Million | December 10–14 | $400 |
| WPT Ladies Championship | December 12–13 | $1,100 |
| WPT World Championship | December 13–20 | $10,400 |
Choose the trip around the event—not the other way around
Playing the $10,400 Championship? Arrive at least a day before your intended starting flight, allowing for travel delays, registration and rest. Keep hotel and return travel flexible enough for a deep run. Do not schedule a nonrefundable flight home just because you expect to bust on Day 1.
Playing the $1,100 Prime? Its December 5–12 window suits a shorter tournament-focused stay, but check the official flight structure before booking arrival and departure days. A late finish can still disrupt dinners, activities and transfers.
Mixing side events and cash games? Consider an open-ended itinerary with one or two protected non-poker experiences. Event entries, cash-game stakes, registration procedures and table availability must be verified with the room.
Where to stay: Wynn, Encore or somewhere else?
Wynn and Encore: the easiest option if minimizing movement to the tournament is the priority. A resort-based stay can be worth the premium during long sessions and short breaks; compare room category, taxes, fees and cancellation terms rather than the advertised nightly rate alone.
The Venetian / Palazzo: attractive luxury alternatives on the same north/central Strip corridor, but do not mistake map distance for door-to-door time. Resort interiors and December traffic can add significant walking and pickup time.
Other Strip hotels: can work for a lower overall trip cost or companions who prioritize shows, shopping or nightlife. Budget for movement back to Wynn, especially after a late elimination or a long cash session.
Ask about any published poker hotel rate, eligibility, play requirements or booking code directly. No discounted rate or availability should be assumed.
Registration, bankroll and travel logistics
Bring the identification and method of payment accepted by the tournament operator. Registration methods, payment limits, tax documentation and cash handling rules are determined by the venue and may change. Confirm before travelling—particularly if you plan to buy in for a large amount or visit from outside the United States.
Keep a clear separation between the tournament buy-in, your personal spending budget and any separate cash-game bankroll. Protect important receipts and records. If travelling internationally, independently verify border-declaration rules for cash and monetary instruments.
Satellite paths may be available, including online promotional programs, but eligibility depends on the operator, jurisdiction and current terms. Never treat promotional package values as guaranteed cash equivalents.
A realistic four-day arrival plan
Day 0 — settle in: arrive, check in, locate the tournament area, verify entry documents and have an early dinner near the hotel.
Day 1 — tournament: protect the full day. Breakfast, short walking routes and sleep matter more than squeezing in an attraction.
Day 2 — flexible: if still in the tournament, keep the calendar open. If eliminated, choose a cash session, low-pressure meal or prearranged activity without assuming immediate availability.
Day 3 — departure or extra day: ideally keep one adjustable return option, particularly for a main-event trip. Confirm transfer times and baggage policies.
When poker is not the only reason for the trip
For companions or group trips, hotels and activities should work even if one player goes deep. A prebooked dinner with change-friendly terms, a show on a non-tournament night or a golf round with a clear cancellation policy is more useful than a rigid hourly itinerary.
PokerArranged can help coordinate hotel options, group arrivals, restaurants, golf and local transfers. Tournament entry and any hotel or activity booking remain subject to the relevant operator’s confirmation and terms. We are an independent travel-planning service, not the WPT or Wynn.
